Story
Waldo is 6 years old soon to be 7 in January. I adopted him from a breeder in Iowa as I was an experienced bulldog owner. Fast forward I am now a busy parent with 2 kids and full time work and full time after school schedules. Waldo is living in his cage which is no life for him. As my kids have gotten older I am not able to be home as much. I am sad he is not getting to live his best life. I picture him with a couple who is home most of the day.. and would allow him up on the couch. Waldo developed bladder stones which I control with prescription food. He also has dry eye which I provide drops in. He is just an old man with a young spirit and a lot of love to give.

She’s playful, affectionate, and loves spending time with her foster sister and doggie friends. While she can be a bit barky on walks when she sees other dogs, she plays nicely and does great in a fenced yard. Whether she’s zooming around looking for toys, riding in the car or snuggling up for a nap, Brenda brings joy to every moment and would love a forever home to call her own.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Meet Oreo! This sweet little pitbull mix puppy was rescued from an outdoor pen with Hershey and Paisley—but don’t worry, she’s trading that old life in for one filled with snacks, snuggles, and plenty of adventures.Oreo was born around June of 2025, but is expected to weigh about 60lbs fully grown. She is friendly, playful, and full of goofy puppy charm. She can be a little unsure in new situations without her friends, but give her a minute (and maybe a treat), and she’ll be melting into your lap like she was born for it.She does have a front foot that turns outward from an old injury that healed incorrectly—but try telling her that. Oreo has zero interest in being limited. She jumps onto the tops of crates to get a better view (because obviously she’s management), scales the fence to greet new friends, and roughhouses joyfully with Hershey. She’ll need lifetime joint supplements, but she’s living proof that different doesn’t mean less.Oreo is great with kids, loves everyone she meets, but has not been tested with cats.If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, determined little cookie who will fill your home with laughter and love, Oreo is your girl.
