We think he looks like a Boxer/Lab Mix). Astro is a sweet and playful puppy. He is great with the dogs in his foster home. He is doing a good job with his house and crate training. Baby puppies will require an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to continue training - no exceptions! This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. We named her Promise because we had no more room on the transport to bring her and we told her that we would come back for her. We kept our word - and we are so glad we did. She had puppies at some point before she was dumped at the poor rural shelter, but she did not come with any of her puppies. This alone must have been awful for her to be separated from her pups. She was very shut down when we got her but now that she is in a foster home she is coming out of her shell and wants to play with the fosters other dogs. And she plays like a boxer which is so cute! Her foster mom says of Promise that 'she is super cute and friendly and just wants to be around me and my son.' She has very good house manners, ,does not chew, is great in a crate and is house broken. We listed older children because she seems scared of small children. We have told Promise that life will be very different from this point on she will have a home with someone who will love her and be kind to her. Kris - Ooey, Gooey, Yummy Like a Krispy Kreme Doughnut and Cat Friendly! Like a creme-filled glazed doughnut, I am a bit 'crunchy' on the outside with a delicious, irresistible center. Meaning, when outdoors, I can be a bit distracted and not a fan of all dogs and, therefore, overlooked by potential adopters and fosters. Unfortunately, these same people don't get to see my delightful, delectable indoor qualities. Specifically, as confirmed by my previous foster, I have impeccable house manners - that is, not destructive, calm, and housebroken. In addition, I am very affectionate, like to snuggle, and just want to snooze on a giant bed. And, importantly, I am good with cats. These adorable photos say it all! I have been with HART since February 2023 - much too long for a sweet doughnut like me to not be gobbled up by a wonderful family. Rudy has had his dental and the vet said that his pearly smile is quite healthy. He didn't require any dental procedures other than a cleaning. YAY for a clean dental bill of health. Live in an apartment? No problem. Rudy is not a big barker. Live in a house? Great too. He's great on leash, loves to chill in the sun and is an all-around easygoing guy. This heartthrob is a friendly guy and loves people, especially the ladies. He has many girlfriends at the rescue. As Rudy is getting older he remains a rock star in play groups with dogs of his energy level. He doesn't need a hyper dog or person to spend hours a day wearing him out. Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Marigold is an absolute joy in her foster home.  She is very fun-loving, playful and sweet.  She LOVES chew toys but needs extra tough chews because she is definitely a chewer.  She is also incredibly smart and enjoys playing with her dog puzzle toy, which she is very good at solving!  As she is so smart, she has picked up basic training with ease using positive reinforcement.  She responds to commands to sit and lay down and she is currently working on “leave it”.  She also knows how to sit calmly and wait before coming out of her crate and sits and stays before exiting and entering the house.  She walks well on leash, so long as she has the opportunity to exert all of her puppy energy.  When she gets to run around her fenced yard a bit prior to walks, she does beautifully!  Marigold is crate trained though does not like to be crated for prolonged periods, however, she does very well sleeping in her crate overnight. Marigold is extremely active and will definitely need to go to an active family that has the time to properly exercise her.  She enjoys several long walks daily in addition to playtime in the yard with the resident family dog, whom she adores.  She has been thriving having her older, confident foster sister as a role model.
