My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Sasha! A special needs 4 month old Malamute Puppy. I had a very rough start in life and most likely came from a puppymill. I have had very little socialization and I need a stay at home mom or dad to teach me all about the big wide world. Here is a little about my story. I ended up at the shelter because my first humans said I was too scared and too much work. I was completely shut down at the shelter and would only lay in a corner and try to hide. I couldn't even get up to relieve myself because I was so frightened. I am now in a foster home and making great strides in leaps and bounds. I even play chase with my humans and I really like their grown up malamute.

So if you are interested in me and want me to be your forever pup please read on for there are a few things you need to be prepared for. The obvious is I am a young pup, very cute and have puppy needs. These include lots of things to chew, lots of attention, and sometimes I like to play in the middle of the night. So if getting many hours of sleep is high on your priority list I may not be a good fit. I also need another confident dog in the house to show me the ropes and to play with. I will need a VERY patient owner. Someone who will spend lots of time training, socializing me and rewarding me with treats and love. The humans call that positive reinforcement and that is the only training that is acceptable. I have had such a scary start I will need more attention and patience then the average pup. I am also extremely frightened of open spaces. I will need a very safe 6ft wooden enclosure for my outside business, but please do not leave me out there for I will try and escape and find you and will get lost since once loose I run blindly. I am a flight risk and will need to wear a harness and you will need to take extra precautions to keep me safe. I really need to co-sleep with my humom or hudad. My foster mom has been sleeping with me and this has really helped to build my trust and confidence.

Are you ready to make a forever commitment to me and help me to grow into the wonderful out going pup I know I can be? If so here are a few of my good points. I am very affectionate sweet and love people once I get to know you. I like pets and snuggles and playing chase. I am making progress at a very speedy rate and I make strong attachments to my people. I am ready for that special person to call my own; Is it you?
