My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bosley (along with his brothers) were left chained 24/7 in a downtown warehouse - including during 110 degree heat - sometimes with water, sometimes not. The workers at the warehouse were concerned for the dogs, as apparently the owner was looking to get rid of them and had some friends involved in dog fighting.

Bosley was rescued by a great guy who visited him at the shelter every week. Each week they worked on basic things: letting him decompress and get acclimated to the sights and sounds of a world outside the warehouse; working on resource based training (hot dogs have been the key for this guy, he had some real breakthroughs early on that we capitalized on), and then eventually walks, crate time, and basic commands.

Bosley was quite something from the start -- he learned quickly that it is a good thing to pay attention to his handler, as that results in more hot dog! Over the course of a few weeks, he came out of his shell more and more, and truly wonderfully so.

They had tested Bosley with males and females. Not only did he show indifference to males/females (including indifference to a male that challenged him), he was SO well tempered with other dogs that he was quickly used as a test dog for the other animals at the shelter. Very impressive and a wonderful attribute for a 90 pound love muffin.

Bosley needs some work on leash, but has shown improvement. He took to crate time very easily.

He can be in a home with another dog, will be fine with a couple walks a day and CAR RIDES. This guy loves the car!
