Hello everyone, my name is Meiko. I am new to the rescue. Until a few months ago my life was very difficult. I spent it on a chain. I was not sure if I was going to have anything to eat and the only thing I had a lot of the time was unimaginable. Those years were very scary and hard for me.
Some nice people came to visit me and saw how I had to live, and they saved me from that awful place. The nice people helped me to find Moonsong Malamute Rescue. I am so happy to learn what life is like with people loving me and taking care of me. I even got to have an amazing spa day and boy do I feel and look so much better.
I got to have a visit with the vet a couple of days ago. I tried to be very brave. I trusted him and let him do what he needed to in order to make sure I am healthy. The vet told me that because I was such a sweet boy and a beautiful boy he didn't think it will take me long to find a forever home. I am so excited about that and I hope he is right!
Because I was chained up most of my life, I have worn down parts of my teeth chewing on the chains. The vet guessed that I could be between 5 and 8 years old. I still have a long life ahead of me and I can't wait for my forever home to find me.
I love to ride in the car and go on outings. I have been house trained and already know some basic commands. I do get a little nervous around smaller children and it is probably because of my background. I do get a little bit nervous if I am left alone for too long. I am learning to walk well on a leash. I like to be around other dogs if I am introduced slowly. Mostly I just want to find someone who can love me and I can love.
