My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Letter from Josh Hi there… my name is Josh. I’m almost 7 years young, a 77-lb big baby with rich brown eyes, a wiggly butt, and a heart that just wants to belong. I was saved at the very last minute by a foster hero, and ever since then I’ve been trying to show the world just how much love I have to give. I’m affectionate to my core. Pets? I’ll take all of them. I’ll even sit with my back to you and tilt my head all the way up just so you can scratch me more—people say it’s pretty adorable. I’m bubbly and sweet, but not wild… just enough zoomies to make you laugh (sometimes with my butt tucked as I sprint across the yard). I love fetch, stuffed toys (I promise to be gentle), calm car rides, and sleeping soundly through the night on my dog bed. In the morning, I might give you a little reminder that I’m ready for love and attention—it’s my favorite thing, after all. I’m smart, eager to please, and very food-motivated. I listen well, learn quickly, and I even know how to find my favorite person when asked. My tail wags nonstop at mealtime, but I’m polite and don’t jump—I just wait patiently and hope you notice me. I’ll be honest with you, because you deserve that. I can feel overwhelmed around other animals and do best as the only pet. I like knowing my space is safe and predictable. With patience, consistency, and love, I know I can continue to grow more confident—and in return, I’ll give you unwavering loyalty and devotion. What I want most isn’t complicated. I want a quiet, loving home. A couch to lean against. A human who understands me. If you’re looking for a devoted companion, a gentle giant who loves deeply and sincerely, I might be the one you’ve been waiting for. Love always, JoshDecember 21, 2025, 2:51 pm

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
