Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Texas is a handsome 5-1/2 year old male German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on June 14, 2025 by Good Samaritans who found him in the vicinity of the Lowe's Home Improvement Store (Pike Street, Marietta Ohio). Texas was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
This majestic guy has a black-and-brown coat, a long bushy tail, and a classic German Shepherd face with dark brown eyes, a tan mask, a slender muzzle, and large erect ears.
Texas appeared to have a pleasant, easygoing disposition when these preliminary photos were taken soon after arrival. He was quiet (no barking at all) and quite attentive. Texas enjoyed 'good boy' treats from HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos.
Thanks to HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Emily Beaver for assisting Texas with photos in the shelter lobby before she led him to his kennel and got him settled in just in time for his dinner to be served.
Texas is a big boy who weighs 90.2 lbs.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Texas was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Surprisingly, nobody called or came looking for this awesome boy.
