My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Zoe was brought in by a community member on June 7, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Zoe, a sweet girl with a gentle soul and a playful side waiting to shine! Zoe can be a bit shy when meeting new people or adjusting to new surroundings, so she's looking for an adopter who will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe. Once she opens up, she is an energetic gal who enjoys chasing after toys, receiving pets and bonding with her favorite humans! Zoe may prefer to be the only pup in the home, and she'd do best without young kids. If you do have another dog, we'd love to set up a meet-and-greet to make sure it's a good match. With gentleness and understanding, Zoe will become your loving and loyal companion! Come in and ask about adopting her today!

At SDHS:
Zoe has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!

Shy/Fearful Dog: Zoe requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
