Meet Sweet Pea – A Sweetheart Looking for a Second Chance

Sweet Pea is a lovable adult mixed breed, about 45 lbs, with a beautiful white-and-tan coat and a heart full of love. She was abandoned by her previous owner, but despite that, she remains affectionate, gentle, and eager to connect with people.

Sweet Pea is house-trained and seems to be dog-friendly, though we’re still getting to know her personality with other pups. She thrives on attention and affection, and her sweet nature makes her a joy to be around.

This adorable girl is ready to find a forever family who will give her the love, patience, and stability she deserves.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you/

Meet the Pet

For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet.

3.
Submit Application

After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application.

4.
Approve Application

After the application is submitted, we will review it and contact you if your application is chosen.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once your application is approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption process!

We are located at 1600 Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm.
We are closed Saturdays and Sundays (as well as holidays) but are available by appointment outside of our open hours.
