My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MJ`s Compatibility:
Dogs - Friendly and enjoys canine company!
Cats - Not a good fit
Kids - Best with ages 8 and up

MJ is the definition of gentle-hearted. He’s a young dog still figuring out that the world isn’t as scary as it sometimes feels, and he’s looking for a patient, kind person to show him what “home” really means.

He’s done beautifully with other dogs here, and they’ve helped him come out of his shell. Having a confident dog friend in the home could really help MJ continue to learn and grow. He just needs time, reassurance, and a calm environment where he can feel safe.

MJ can get a little nervous in new situations or at the vet, but he tries so hard to be brave. With a gentle touch, a few treats, and lots of love, he’ll start to trust that good things happen when people are near.

If you’re the kind of person who believes in giving love the time it needs to bloom, MJ might be your perfect match. Come meet him and see what a little patience can do. He`s worth it, we promise.

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
