My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mardi: A Resilient Rat Terrier-Chihuahua Mix
Mardi is a spirited 1-year-old rat terrier-chihuahua mix who is looking for a loving home. Weighing in at a petite 11 pounds, this little guy has already been through a lot in his short life.
A Survivor's Story
Mardi's journey began in a dire situation. He was rescued from a severe hoarding case where he was kept in poor conditions. This has undoubtedly impacted his early experiences, but Mardi is proving to be a resilient and brave little dog.
Building Trust with Mardi
Mardi is currently in the process of learning to trust humans again. He requires a patient adopter who can offer kindness and understanding. With time and love, Mardi is sure to become a loyal and affectionate companion.
Compatibility with Other Pets
One of Mardi's strengths is his friendliness towards other animals. He gets along well with other dogs and is okay with cats, making him a versatile addition to a home with existing pets.
Health and Wellness
Mardi is neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. Additionally, he has received a ProHeart 12 injection, which provides 12 months of protection from heartworms. His health and safety are well-cared for, ensuring a strong start in his new home.
Adoption and Foster Opportunities
Mardi is available for adoption or fostering. If you feel that you can provide the loving environment that Mardi needs, please reach out. You can contact Barking Mad Animal Rescue at barkingmadanimalrescue@gmail.com or fill out the application provided in this post.
By choosing to adopt or foster Mardi, you are not only giving him a second chance at a happy life but also gaining a loyal friend who will be forever grateful for your kindness.

More about this rescue

BMAR is a No-Kill facility: a place of safety for healthy adoptable animals, a home for the homeless, a haven for the mistreated, neglected, or abused animals of Sabine & surrounding counties. BMAR also runs a sanctuary for those deemed unadoptible due to medical and behavior issues.

100% Volunteer Rescue. We have no animal control, Humane Society, or SPCA operating in our area leaving animals in dire straights.

BMAR is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty & abuse to all animals & livestock.

We currently only adopt to states and Canada where we have a network in place to monitor animals and help with problems.

BMAR backs it's dogs for life and will take back no matter how long and at any time if circumstance arise and you cannot keep your pet.
