We’re officially seeking a forever family for Cocoa, our 80lb certified land hippo and professional couch potato.
As most of you know, Cocoa was rescued from ACCT Philly, where she found herself timestamped for euthanasia after two months in the shelter when her family of three years moved and couldn’t take her along. We learned about her just 12 hours before her deadline and grabbed her in the nick of time and we’re so glad we did!
Cocoa is as sweet as can be, and loves nothing more than being close to her people. In typical pittie fashion, she does have recurring skin issues, however she has not had a flare up since her last round of apoquel. She is currently not on any medications!
A few things about Cocoa:
* 80lbs of love and loyalty
* House-trained and knows “sit,” “down,” and “leave it”
* Excellent leash manners and loves long walks
* Mild separation anxiety, her ideal home is with someone who works from home/is around most of the day or can afford daily check ins with a dog walker/sitter
* Dog selective (per ACCT Philly) though we haven’t dog-tested her in our care, but we think she’d thrive as an only dog
* Cat-friendly, but has big-dog energy and would do best with confident, dog-savvy cats
* Great with kids, but keep her size and occasional jumping in mind
* Fenced yard would be great but not required however daily walks are a must!
Cocoa is 5 years old, spayed, vaccinated against rabies, Bordetella/Parainfluenza, DHPP, Lyme, and Leptospirosis, heart worm negative, and receives regular flea/worm/heart worm preventative!
Cocoa is looking for a foster-to-adopt home!

Adopting a cat is a big responsibility and commitment, but it's also one of the biggest acts you can ever do for an animal in need.
Each and every cat in our care has their own story and background. They are all fully vetted, fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative (unless otherwise specified). Because of this, our adoption fee is $95 for one cat over 1-year-old or $155 for 2 and $110 for one cat under 1-year-old or $195 for 2.
Our approval process includes a vet reference (personal reference if you've not had a vet in the last 5 years), virtual home tour, and landlord approval should you be a renter.
The completion of an application does not guarantee approval for adoption.
