My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WISE is entirely volunteer-run and all of the donations made to our rescue go directly back to the animals in our care. By partnering with veterinary practices that support our work, we are able to save animals lives and restore them back to health. While some animals only need standard care, others require more extensive veterinary or behavioral care.

Regardless of which dog you are applying for, we are looking for adopters to support our program with a minimum donation of $850. The donation may or may not be directly applied to care of the dog you're adopting but rather goes toward supporting all of the dogs in the rescue. We appreciate the understanding of our potential adopters. Please keep this in mind prior to applying.

NAME: Dentyne

BREED: Bichon Frise x Pomeranian

DOB: Jul 10, 2025 (16 weeks)

GENDER: male

Home Recommendation: Dentyne is starting to explore more inside the house and is slowly gaining confidence in his new environment. Outside, hes still a bit unsure of his surroundings, so a calm and patient home would be best for him. His ideal family will give him the time and reassurance he needs to adjust at his own pace, gently encouraging him to explore the world beyond the front door. A quiet home with a predictable routine and access to a safe outdoor space would help him continue to build confidence and feel secure.

Personality: Dentyne is curious and slowly becoming more confident, exploring new spaces on his own. With gentle encouragement and patience, hes sure to come out of his shell and show more of his brave personality as he adjusts to his new surroundings.

KIDS: Yes

DOGS: Yes

CATS: Yes

Training: Dentyne sleeps comfortably in his crate both at night and during the day. Hes still learning how to walk on a leash and will need continued training and patience in that area. Hes doing well with potty training, mostly going on the pad with just a few accidents as he continues to learn.

WHY DID THEY COME TO WISE: Puppy mills overbreed to the point where they produce more dogs than they can sell. Dogs like Dentyne were rejected for reasons ranging from birth defects, being born with the wrong color fur or eyes, or just simply because no one wanted to purchase them. When the dogs are not sold, the puppy mills destroy them, and it is legal to do so. WISE has recently partnered with a group to save these unwanted dogs - healthy, unhealthy, and/or with birth defects - who are destined to be killed for no reason.
