My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Leonard is an extremely people-oriented cat who loves companionship, brushing, and soothing interaction. He would likely thrive in a home where someone has plenty of time to give him the closeness and grooming he craves. Leonard is so good, so sweet that he deserves to be celebrated for his rebellious wild side! He's the perfect cat for a peaceful clean home. Leonard needs lots of attention and love.

Leonard is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of cat - a sweet, gentle
soul wrapped in kitten energy and curiosity. From the
moment he first meets you, he's all heart. Leonard shows his
love in unforgettable ways: he gives the softest, sweetest
kisses that will melt you completely. He's never aggressive
- just a playful, affectionate boy who thrives on closeness
and trust.

Leonard's Favorite Things
• Kisses & Cuddles: His special way of saying
"you're my person."
• Brushing Sessions: Leonard adores being brushed
- especially his face and head. He'll happily guide you
to the spots he loves most, rewarding you with purrs and
snuggles.
• Playtime: Lightning-fast zoomies, tunnels, and
crunchy foil toys make him come alive. He's a kitten at
heart - rambunctious but never mean-spirited.
• Velcro Cat Moments: Leonard loves to be close.
He'll curl up on your lap, sit by your side, or even
gently perch at your feet, keeping you company with
devotion.

What Leonard Needs in a Family
• Lots of Time Together: Leonard bonds deeply. A
retired person or someone home often would be ideal -
he's happiest when he has his people nearby.
• Understanding His Mischief: Like any cat,
Leonard has playful, silly, "naughty" moments -
especially when human food is involved. He's smart
enough to know the rules, but still cheeky enough to test
them now and then. His new family must be dedicated
to keeping him safe from foods that could harm him.
• Gentle & Patient Love: Leonard thrives with
people who celebrate him - who see his kisses,
zoomies, and quirks as proof of his amazing personality,
not as problems.

How to Love Leonard 💜
1. Brush him daily, always finishing with his
favorite head and face strokes.
2. Keep him safe by protecting him from human
food temptations.
3. Celebrate his playful energy - tunnels, foil balls,
and toys keep him happy.
4. Accept his kisses, cuddles, and constant closeness
- he's a Velcro cat through and through.
5. Above all, treasure him as the extraordinary
companion he is.

✨ Leonard isn't "just a cat." He's affectionate, funny, loyal,
and deeply loving - the kind of companion who fills a
home with warmth and joy. Whoever adopts Leonard will be
gaining a best friend who gives back 1000 percent in kisses,
purrs, and unwavering love.

A volunteer writes:
Leonard, a young ginger was found hurt in the street and brought to us to mend his wound. His past is a total mystery opening the path to a whole new life. Sweet Leonard has a booboo at the base of his tail and we are working at getting him all better. He is a sweet guy, quite friendly, trusting and eager to lean into pets, purr and be loved. Cute Leonard will for sure be quite a catch once 100% back on his feet and in plain sight in our adoption quarters. Keep him in your thoughts and be ready to meet him very soon at the Manhattan Care Center.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.

I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
