Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cricket — A Fluffy Little Sweetheart Ready to Bloom 🐾❤️
Cricket (formerly Biggie Small) is a 2-year-old neutered male Chihuahua mix with an irresistibly soft, fluffy coat and the gentlest personality. This sweet boy spent his entire life in a home with many other dogs, and when everything suddenly changed, Cricket found himself terrified, confused, and without the comfort of the only world he had ever known.
At the shelter, he was tossed into a kennel, evaluated by strangers, and completely abandoned. Feeling overwhelmed and trapped, Cricket barked, cowered, trembled, and hid in the corner of his “room,” hoping the unfamiliar people would go away so he could feel safe again.
Because of his fear, others passed him by.
But Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows did not.
We stepped in and brought Cricket—along with his extended dog family—into safety, patience, and compassion.
Now, Cricket is slowly blossoming into a very sweet, loving, and hopeful little boy. He enjoys gentle pets, soft voices, and being loved on, and he is discovering that humans can be comforting and kind. Every day he takes small, brave steps toward trusting again.
Cricket will thrive with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. With patience, space, and a calm home, this shy little guy will shine—and once he feels safe, his loving nature truly emerges.
He is current on vaccinations and microchipped, and ready for the next chapter of his life with someone who believes in second chances.
If your heart has room for a tender, fluffy companion who just needs someone to love him gently, Cricket may be the perfect match.
