My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocco is a sweet 2-year-old neutered male Pitbull/Lab mix with a glossy black coat and an even sweeter heart.

This handsome guy may be a little shy when you first meet him, but give him a moment and you’ll discover just how big his love truly is. Once he trusts you, Rocco becomes a full-blown cuddle bug who adores being close to his people. Rocco is still building his confidence on the leash, but he’s already making great progress and is beginning to enjoy his daily walks. A home with a fenced-in backyard would be ideal so he can run, play, and explore at his own pace.

He’s playful, gentle, and does well with other dogs—but a meet and greet is required to ensure he’s the perfect match for your family. Rocco would likely do best with older children who can offer calm, patient interactions as he continues to blossom. Oh—and if you want to win his heart quickly? Bring snacks. Rocco is a total foodie and thinks treats are just about the best thing ever! ????

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and affectionate friend to brighten your days, Rocco is ready to melt your heart. Come meet this sweet boy today!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
