Shaun was brought in by a community member on 12/2/2025.

Why Shaun is the one for you:
Shaun is a gentle, loving dog who's just a little overwhelmed by the busy shelter setting-but beneath that initial anxiety is a truly wonderful companion. According to those who knew him before, Shaun is an incredibly friendly and active boy with a bright, eager spirit. He especially lights up for car rides, happily hopping in and enjoying every moment of the adventure. With a calm home and a bit of patience, Shaun is sure to blossom into the affectionate, fun-loving best friend he's always been.

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.
