My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Purr-sia, a cat who never quite grew up — I love to play! I may be tiny, but I’ve got a big personality. I loveeee to talk, whether I’m asking for food, attention, or just giving my opinion, you’ll definitely hear from me.

I absolutely love to play with toys! when I`m not chasing after a string or batting a feather, I’m usually curled up right next to a human. I don’t like being too far away I just want to be part of whatever they’re doing. If there’s a lap, I’m on it. If there’s a blanket, I’m under it (one of my quirks is snuggling under blankets) If there’s love to give, I’m first in line to get it.

I was brought to Smittens through an LA area shelter. Smittens helped me get healthy! I received a full mouth extraction (all teeth removed) in November 2025 due to unresolved dental issues. I have healed well and can now eat both wet and dry food! I am ready for my forever home indoors!

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
