My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Mouser • Independent Professional*

Silas Grimm is an approximately 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair grey tabby with a big body, a tough stare, and absolutely no interest in the indoor, people-centric lifestyle. Trapped at an apartment complex, Silas made it clear early on that he is not a candidate for petting, cuddling, or couch life. He is fear aggressive with people and deeply unhappy in the shelter environment.

What Silas *is*, however, is exactly what the right property needs.

Silas is a strong, savvy, street-smart cat who is seeking an **outdoor working home** through our **Mouser Program**. He wants space, fresh air, and a job to do. As a natural pest control specialist, Silas will happily put his hunting instincts to good use keeping barns, workshops, stables, warehouses, or rural properties rodent-free.

**The Fine Print (a.k.a. Silas’s Boundaries):**

* Does not want people near him
* Not a lap cat, not a pet, not a conversion project
* Thriving outdoors with shelter, food, and minimal human interaction
* Miserable indoors and in the shelter setting

**The Perks:**

* Big, tough grey tabby with serious mouser potential
* Low-maintenance working cat
* No need for socialization or attention—just respect and routine
* Deserves a life that suits who he truly is

Silas isn’t broken—he’s just built for a different life. If you have a safe outdoor space and are looking for a dedicated, no-nonsense barn cat who wants nothing more than to live on his own terms and keep pests in check, Silas Grimm may be the perfect fit.

Give this tough boy the freedom and purpose he’s been waiting for. For more information about our mouser program and tips for bringing a mouser home, please visit https://www.caabr.org/mousers
