Lyanna’s story is one of quiet strength and resilience. She is a 2 year old, female, mixed breed. She was found as an emaciated stray in the South. She has since gained over 20 pounds, a little confidence, and a whole lot of hope. She is healthy and ready for her happy ending. Despite not always being treated kindly in the past, Lyanna remains a truly sweet soul. She can be shy at first, but are begging you to give her a little time. With a some patience and a gentle approach, she quickly warms up to reveal herself as an intelligent, gentle, and deeply affectionate good girl. Lyanna does well with other polite dogs and would thrive with a calm, patient family. We named her after the Game of Thrones character because she’s quietly brave, intelligent, and very unforgettable once you truly know her.

More about this rescue
We are a volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill shelter.
Visit our website at HeartofRI.org for an in depth view of our policies, procedures, fees, and exactly what they include.
Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.
