My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Lila 💙
I’m a 5-year-old grey British Shorthair with a soft, plush coat and a calm, elegant presence—some people say I look like I stepped right out of a TV commercial. I was born in Turkey and grew up in a loving home here, where I was cherished and well cared for.
My family made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye when one of the young children developed allergies. It wasn’t an easy choice, and I came to the adoption center with lots of love behind me.
I’m a laid-back, gentle soul with a sweet and steady personality. I’m calm, polite, and patient, and I’ve always been kind and gentle with children. I enjoy peaceful companionship, quiet moments, and being near my people without demanding too much.
I would do best as the only cat in the home, where I can fully relax and enjoy being the center of attention. I’m well-mannered, well-loved, and ready to bring my soft heart (and movie-star good looks) into a new forever home. If you’re looking for a serene, affectionate companion to share your life with, I just might be your girl. 🐾

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
