My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Primrose was brought in by Field Service Officer on December 16, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Primrose, a professional people-watcher who loves to observe her surroundings from a cozy hideout before making her grand entrance. This sensitive girl will need her own quiet room to decompress, relax, and feel safe while she settles in. Once she decides the coast is clear, Primrose is happy to explore-on her terms. She thrives with a gentle, patient approach, and over time her sweet, silly side begins to peek through. When she feels secure, she shows just how special she is, making every small moment feel like a little victory. Primrose will do best in a calm home without lots of hustle and bustle, and without young children. She was also found to have hip arthritis, so a quick check-in with your vet will help make sure she's set up for happy, easy-going adventures at home. She's ready to hop, stretch, and purr her way into your life. Pack a secure carrier and get ready for endless adorable moments together!

At SDHS:
Primrose has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Primrose is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
