My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Libby is our 12 year old doll with a LOT of love and life left to give her forever person. At a mere 7lbs, Libby came to us with an old scar on her left ear (maybe she was a pirate dog?) and a lovable attitude. She definitely needs a home where they can give her A LOT of attention, because she does not like to be left alone. She does well with other dogs that are go at her gentle pace. If you have another dog, we highly recommend bringing them along to meet! Libby loves to give kisses, so if you want a lippy from Libby, you`re just gonna have to find a little room in your place, and your heart, for this wonderful little lady. Because she deserves to have the next chapter of her life be her best one!

Libby is at our Cottonwood Mall location!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
