My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zephyr

1 year old | 27 lbs | Good with dogs & cats

Zephyr is a shy, skittish but incredibly loving young dog who has already made wonderful progress in just one week in foster care. As her trust grows, her sweet and affectionate personality truly shines.

She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and does very well with other dogs and cats, mostly minding her own business or sticking close to whatever her people are doing. Zephyr can be hesitant around new people at first, but she warms up quickly with patience and kindness.

Loud noises, including raised voices, can still be nerve-wracking for her, so she would thrive in a calm, understanding home. Once she bonds, Zephyr becomes deeply attached and is an amazing companion and cuddler.

She’s good on leash, though she hasn’t been on many walks yet, and enjoys short walks and trips to the dog park. Bath time? No problem—she’s better than any dog we’ve ever bathed!

Zephyr loves treat-dispensing toys, chew bones, and of course cuddles above all else. She’s a gentle soul who just needs someone to love her—and she will give that love back tenfold. Bcaaofnj.org

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
