My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you have extra cardboard boxes hanging around? Don’t throw them out! We have the ultimate Cardboard Box Connoisseur! Taurus is a beautiful two-year-old grey tabby with a calm, easygoing vibe. She’s a friendly and quiet girl who loves being close to her people, whether that means hanging out nearby or keeping you company around the house, where she likes to rub her head against her people to say hello. Taurus is incredibly smart and has a great internal clock. She knows exactly when it’s mealtime and will gently interact with you to remind you of this. While her food is being prepared (she loves everything—dry food, canned chicken food, and treats), she sits politely and quietly right next to you, patiently waiting. Even though she’s not a fan of being picked up, she doesn’t struggle at all – she’s such a gentle soul that she will just patiently wait for a polite moment to hop down. Taurus shows her affection by choosing to be near you and settling in wherever she feels most comfortable. Playtime is one of her favourite things. She loves the cat teaser, scratchers, and zooming through tunnels. She also has a fun "night owl" side—if you give her 10 minutes with the wand toy in the evening, she’s the happiest cat in the world. But cardboard truly has her heart! Boxes don’t stand a chance once Taurus decides they’d make the perfect cozy bed. When she’s not in a box, you can find her on her cat tree or in a window, where she can spend hours watching the world go by. We aren’t sure how Taurus gets along with other cats or dogs, but she would be okay as the only cat with someone home often to keep her company. Given her calm demeanour, she should be fine with children.

Taurus came to us as a pregnant stray. She was a great mother to her litter of astrological signs, but now it’s her turn to find her forever home at last.

Taurus would be a great match for someone looking for a gentle, playful cat who enjoys quiet companionship, a bit of fun, and a very well-stocked supply of boxes.

As we often receive numerous applications for each cat or kitten, we will only contact applicants who best suit the needs of the cat or kitten. For example, if it is stipulated that the cat needs another cat buddy at home and you do not have one, you may not receive a response. Finding the best home for our cat or kitten is our top priority. Applications are not first-come, first-served.

More about this rescue

Home at Last Rescue (HALR) is a Registered Canadian Charity, that is 100% volunteer driven. Our goal is to rescue cats from substandard living conditions and give them the loving homes they deserve.

We provide medical care, emotional support and a loving environment while preparing them to find their forever homes. With no physical location, all of our cats and kittens reside in loving foster homes across the Greater Toronto Area until they are ready for adoption.

We receive no government funding and rely solely on adoption fees, donations and our fundraising efforts to support our initiatives. We believe there is a home for every cat and a cat for every home.
