Jaylyn is a young black beauty who is patiently waiting for her person—the one who sees her gentle heart and gives her the chance to truly shine. She may be a little timid at first, but with patience and kindness, Jaylyn blossoms into a deeply loving, playful companion.
Once she feels safe, Jaylyn is the ultimate movie-night lap cat and snuggle bug. She loves being close to her person and has some endearingly quirky habits: when she’s nervous, she may give a soft love bite to set boundaries, and when she’s comfortable, she’ll hold onto you and gently suck your thumb for reassurance. It’s all part of her sweet, sensitive way of bonding.
Jaylyn needs another cat in the home—no exceptions. She loves other cats and gains confidence from their presence. She also does well with dogs and doesn’t mind the laid-back foster dog in her current home, as long as her space is respected. With the right companions and a patient adopter, Jaylyn becomes playful, affectionate, and full of personality.
Jaylyn is looking for a calm, quiet home with cat-savvy adults only. A peaceful environment without children is important for her to feel secure and thrive. She’s not a cat for someone in a rush—but for the person willing to give her time and understanding, Jaylyn will reward you with trust, love, and a truly special bond.
Jaylyn is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
