My name is Hans!

Meet Hans Hans is a 12-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat weighing approximately 9 pounds who came to the Rockwall Adoption Center after being abandoned overnight on January 5, 2026. Because of the circumstances surrounding his arrival, we have very limited information about his past. Hans is a senior cat who will need a little extra support, primarily due to his blindness. He is currently underweight and is being carefully monitored by staff to ensure he is gaining weight safely and steadily. While Hans does not have extensive ongoing medical needs that we know of, his blindness means he will do best in a calm, stable home where furniture and routines remain consistent, allowing him to feel safe and confident as he navigates his surroundings. Despite these challenges, Hans deserves the chance to know comfort, safety, and kindness. Cats who are blind often adapt remarkably well in stable environments, and with consistency, gentle handling, and love, Hans can still enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling life. He will do best in a home that understands senior care and is willing to offer patience and compassion as he continues to recover. Hans is available for adoption with a $30 adoption fee. He is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccination and FVRCP booster, and has tested negative for FIV/FELV. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
