My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Little boy was brought in by their previous owner on January 11, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Little Boy! Little Boy came into our care alongside his sister, Little Girl (AID 919933). While they are not considered a bonded pair, they are very comfortable together and we strongly recommend they be adopted into the same home, as they clearly enjoy each other's company. Little Boy will do best with a patient, understanding family who can give him time to acclimate to his new environment. With a calm approach and consistency, he's sure to settle in and show his gentle side. He has lived with children before but appreciates having his own space to relax when needed. Like many cats, Little Boy has preferences for how he likes to be pet and held-taking the time to learn his cues and respect his boundaries will help build a trusting, rewarding relationship. Little Boy would be a wonderful addition to a home that values patience, understanding, and the joy of watching a cat's personality unfold-especially alongside his sister. Make sure to bring a carrier or two, for safe travel home!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
