My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Asteroid Destroyer was brought in by a community member on January 21, 2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Asteroid Destroyer is a sweet, resilient cat who is ready for a fresh start in a loving home. She arrived in our care with a tail injury that required amputation, and she is healing well and feeling better every day. Despite what she has been through, Asteroid Destroyer remains affectionate and people-oriented, enjoying time close to her humans and soaking up attention. She especially loves treats - with Churu and Temptations topping her favorites list - and she's happy to show her appreciation with gentle head butts and a calm, friendly presence. Asteroid Destroyer is looking for a family who will continue her recovery with patience, spoil her a little with snacks, and give her the companionship she clearly adores. Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
