Hi! My name is Kirsi and here is a little more about me :
My Journey My name Kirsi is Finnish for frost. My sister and I were rescued by Smittens from a shelter euthanasia list. We ended up there only because we had mange (which is easily treatable!) and little kitty colds. With care and treatment, our mange is completely cleared, and I’m now healthy and ready for my forever home. My eyes can get a little drippy sometimes, but a quick round of antibiotic drops clears them right up. I can seem a bit shy at first, but I warm up quickly. I’m fast to purr, love being petted, enjoy cozy cuddles in your arms, and absolutely adore playing.
My Social Life Other cats ? I’m a super friendly little fur baby! I really wanted to be friends with my foster’s big cat and would likely do well with any friendly kitty or kitten. I’m gentle, social, and enjoy feline company. Dogs ? Kids ? I haven’t met dogs or mini humans yet, but with calm introductions, I’d likely adapt well.
My Personality I’m a little angel girl with a sweet, affectionate heart. I may be shy when I first arrive somewhere new, but I warm up quickly once I feel safe. I love to cuddle, will happily curl up on your lap, and become a warm, purring companion once I get to know you.
I Enjoy… Playing with spring toys—they’re my absolute favorite! Chasing the butterfly toy Scratching on my scratcher Cuddling up close once I feel comfortable Playing and hanging out with other cats, especially my sister
I’m Not a Fan Of… Nothing in particular—I’m an easygoing girl! (No known dislikes.)
What Makes Me Special I might start off shy, but once I trust you, I turn into the best cuddle buddy ever. I love to snuggle right into your lap and keep you warm with my soft purrs.
My Perfect Home I’m adaptable and could fit into many different homes. I would especially enjoy having another friendly cat or kitten to play with, but I’d also be happy in a loving home with humans who enjoy snuggles, soft playtime, and helping me feel safe.
Young kittens are adopted in pairs or to a home with another playful kitty.

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
