My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brindisi, or Sizzy as we call her, is a 2 year old bundle of joy (who has perfect coloring, she's a little dilute tortie!). This kitty cat loves to be around people so she will most definitely be your perfect life long companion! Sizzy loves to sit by your side and watch you do your work, occasionally headbutting you to let you know she’s ready for some pets and affection. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to you during these cold winter mornings and take a nice long nap before waking up for good and demanding breakfast. Brindisi can be shy when it comes to playing, but once you show her how it’s done (passing the toy mouse around) she’ll be delighted to join the circle. Although Sizzy loves to be around people, it will take her some time to get used to her new home so peace and quiet would be wonderful for her for the first couple of weeks. Once this sweet baby kitty gets used to her new surroundings, she will show you how silly and loveable (not that she isn’t already) she can be!

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
