My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Theo, a sleek black kitty who just arrived from Animal Care and Control and is still getting used to all the new sights, sounds, and people. Theo may be shy at first, the kind of cat who prefers a moment to observe and decide when it feels safe to come closer, but there is a very sweet soul here waiting to shine.

With a calm approach and a little patience, Theo begins to soften. Gentle voices, slow movements, and letting Theo choose the pace will go a long way. The reward is the best kind. Watching a cautious kitty relax, lean in, and realize you are a friend.

Theo is ready to trade shelter life for a peaceful home with cozy hiding spots, warm blankets, and a person who understands that trust is built, not rushed. If you have a big heart for a shy cat who will blossom into a loving companion, come meet Theo and see if you are the one Theo has been waiting for.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
