My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Indie is a beautiful 3-year-old spayed female Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix with a heart just as big as her gorgeous fluffy coat. This sweet girl is the definition of a cuddle bug—she absolutely loves being close to her people and soaking up all the affection you’re willing to give.

Indie enjoys her daily walks and is very gentle on the leash, making strolls around the neighborhood relaxing and enjoyable. Whether you live in an apartment or a house, Indie would likely settle in just fine as long as she gets her exercise and plenty of love.

She can be pretty selective with other dogs, so a meet and greet will be necessary to ensure a good fit with any potential canine siblings. Although she would be much better as the only pet in the home. When it comes to her human friends, though, Indie is all love and loyalty.

This fluffy beauty doesn’t mind being groomed and will need regular brushing to keep her soft coat looking its best. It’s just one more excuse for some extra bonding time! And if you really want to win her heart? Chicken jerky treats are the way to go.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will happily join you for walks and then snuggle up by your side, Indie may be your perfect match. Come meet her and see just how special she is!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
