My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Campbell !

Campbell has quite the story. Before coming to us, this handsome boy was living his entire life inside a cat carrier. Because of that, he was understandably overwhelmed and defensive in his kennel at the shelter. It was the only way he knew how to cope.

But the moment Campbell was given space in a larger room, everything changed.

Out of his shell came the sweetest, most charming boy. Now, he eagerly walks up to people for attention, happily accepts treats, and has discovered the joy of playtime! Watching him realize he’s safe and free to explore has been truly heartwarming.

Campbell isn’t a fan of being held—and that’s perfectly okay. He prefers affection on his own terms: pets, company, and interactive play are much more his style. He gets along well with other cats and is curious about them. He can be a bit of a rough-and-tumble player, and he may growl or hiss during play sessions—but don’t worry! That’s just his enthusiastic play style. He’s having fun and doesn’t mean any harm.

Campbell is looking for a patient, understanding home that will continue to give him the space and kindness he needs to thrive. In return, you’ll get a resilient, affectionate companion who’s discovering just how good life can be.

Could you be the one to show Campbell that his best days are still ahead?

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
