My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mantis !

Mantis is a brave little lady with a story that proves she already knows how to choose her people. This sweet kitten was found wandering the streets all on her own when she spotted someone she knew would help her. Without hesitation, she walked right up to them — and refused to leave their side. That moment changed her life, and now she’s safe and thriving in our care at FMAR.

Mantis is truly the sweetest girl. She absolutely adores attention and happily melts into your arms when held. Being spoiled? Yes, please — it’s one of her favorite hobbies! She’s affectionate, people-oriented, and always ready for cuddles.

Don’t let her snuggly side fool you, though — Mantis is also a confident little adventurer. She loves to explore, play, and investigate every new corner she discovers. New spaces don’t intimidate her at all; she walks in with curiosity and confidence, ready to make herself at home wherever she goes.

If you’re looking for a kitten who is equal parts loving companion and fearless explorer, Mantis might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to find a forever family who will give her the love, attention, and cozy life she knew she deserved the moment she asked for help.

Come meet Mantis and let her charm you — she’s impossible not to fall in love with.

FMAR felines are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated for age-appropriate shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
