My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello… I’m Lilith. I may have a bold name, but I’m truly a gentle soul. My days are filled with soft coos and quiet observation as I watch the world from my favorite perch. There’s something special about the peaceful presence a dove brings — and I carry that calm wherever I go. I’m naturally curious and enjoy exploring my surroundings in my own graceful way. I like to take my time getting comfortable, but once I do, you’ll see just how sweet and steady I am. I find comfort in routine, warm sunlight, and a safe space where I can stretch my wings. Mealtime is always a highlight — especially when I get a nutritious mix with my favourite seeds! Proper dove care is very important to me. I thrive with a spacious enclosure, daily opportunities to flutter and exercise, a balanced diet, and a patient human who understands and appreciates doves for who we are. I’m searching for a forever home with someone who values quiet companionship and gentle bonds. I may not demand attention loudly, but my soft coos and peaceful energy will fill your home with warmth. Could you be the one to give me the loving, forever perch I’ve been dreaming of? P.S. I came to the shelter with my dove friends after our beloved owner passed away. We’ve always had each other, and it would mean the world to me if I could be adopted with some — or even all — of them. We find comfort in our little flock, and we’d love to stay together as we begin this next chapter.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
