Story
Bones is a high-energy, playful pup who loves to run, play, and stay active. He’s very intelligent and learns new commands quickly, making him a great fit for someone experienced with dogs or excited to continue his training. He’s incredibly loyal and people-oriented, forming strong bonds with his person while still enjoying time with other dogs. Because he was separated from his mom very early, Bones does have some separation anxiety when left alone—he may bark, but he is not destructive. He would do best in a home where someone is around often and can give him plenty of attention and space to play. Bones has been around a 2 and 4 years old before. he does great when people are around watching him to make sure they’re not getting in his face. (as soon as kids start running around, he thinks they’re playing with him and he will want to join in) it is best to monitor him around children untill you feel you can trust him. bones is the biggest cuddly boy & loves to sleep w his person.

Story
HI - MY NAME IS BRIE! I'm a 10-month-old Basenji mix in need of a foster or forever home. I weigh only 30 pounds! I was rescued from a crowded California shelter along with my brother Franco (he also needs a home), and it was a pretty traumatic experience for us. But I'm now coming out of my shell, and am ready for a foster or forever home. Like many dogs I'll need some time to transition to a new life, but once I do, I'll be your best friend forever. I am a true medium-sized girl and would do great in a quiet home with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Bailey!Bailey is a young Basenji with beauty, brains, and plenty of spirit! This cute girl is full of energy and curiosity, always ready to explore the world around her. One of Bailey’s most adorable quirks is her habit of hopping around on her back legs when she gets excited, sure to bring a smile to your face.Bailey is sweet, intelligent, and eager to learn, but like many young dogs, she will need continued training, structure, and a patient adopter to help guide her into becoming her very best self. She is still learning good manners, including that people are for loving, not mouthing, so she’ll need help and consistency in learning appropriate ways to play and interact. With love, guidance, and plenty of enrichment, Bailey has all the potential to grow into an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a smart, lively pup to share life’s adventures with, Bailey may be your perfect match! If you are interested in meeting Bailey, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email it to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
