Story
Meet Bailey!Bailey is a young Basenji with beauty, brains, and plenty of spirit! This cute girl is full of energy and curiosity, always ready to explore the world around her. One of Bailey’s most adorable quirks is her habit of hopping around on her back legs when she gets excited, sure to bring a smile to your face.Bailey is sweet, intelligent, and eager to learn, but she is looking for an adopter who is committed to providing ongoing training, structure, and consistency. She is still learning good manners, including that people are for loving—not mouthing/nipping—so she will need a patient family willing to continue working with her using positive reinforcement. Bailey thrives when she has both mental and physical enrichment, and with the right guidance, she has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion.Because of her energy level and active nature, Bailey requires a secure, fully fenced yard where she can safely run, play, and burn off energy. She is not a dog who will thrive without regular exercise and continued training. We understand that finding the right match is important, so we are also open to a foster-to-adopt arrangement for the right home. This gives both Bailey and her potential family the opportunity to ensure it's the perfect fit.If you're looking for a smart, fun-loving dog and are ready to invest the time and commitment she deserves, Bailey just might be your perfect match! If you are interested in meeting Bailey, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email it to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Prue is a 2 year old, 26 pound mixed breed. She can be a cuddly couch potato partner or an eager walk companion. She loves to fetch and wants to please. She would excel in agility training since she is smart, fast, and agile. Prue is shy around strangers, especially men. She likes to burrow under the covers at night and snuggle. She plays well with other dogs at daycare and cooperates with her groomer. Prue would be happiest in a home where she's the only pet. She's privately fostered while she waits for her forever home.

Story
MEET BRIE, an adorable but scared 2-year-old (and three months) French Bulldog/Basenji mix in need of a foster or forever home. Brie is currently housed with her brother Franco, who looks a lot like her and is also scared. We think it's best that they are separated, though, as it should help them. They each weigh about 35 lbs. (Their paperwork may say shepherd mix but they both have Frenchie ears.) Both of them are timid/scared of new people, so they need adopters who can be patient and let them come out of their shells and bond to you. Brie is adorable and a wonderful medium size. She is currently in Southern California but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

So I am pretty sure my rescuers were HUNGRY when they named us ;0 Cashew is my name and i am as delightful as a sweet n nutty n salty treat. Not only was I named after food...my babies were too! Who names puppies Chicken, Banana and Raisin?? Hungry rescuers, thats who!!!! Now , when we were found, we were HUNGRY TOO! We were "living" at a gas station in the 90 to 100 degree temperatures and unbelievable flooding 🌧.... so yep, we r SURVIVORS! As mama to this crew I was so very scared for our safety but was also scared of the people helping us... fast forward to today! I love my people and my babies r grown and finding their own homes... its my turn now! I am a good girl, great size of 30# and a heart full of love and adventure! Adopt me soon!! Story
MEET FRANCO, an adorable but scared almost 2-year-old French Bulldog/possibly Basenji mix in need of a foster or forever home. Franco is currently housed with his sister Brie, who looks a lot like him and is also scared. They can be adopted separately or apart. They weigh about 35 lbs each. (Their paperwork may say shepherd mix but they both have Frenchie ears.) Both of them are timid/scared of new people, so they need adopters who can be patient and let them come out of their shells and bond to you. Franco is cute as a button and a wonderful medium size. He is currently in California, but can be transported to Oregon. Experienced adopters only.
