Story
Scotty is a very sweet, loving, calm basset hound. He was abandoned by his owner in Asia as they discovered that he has some deformity in his front legs. His joint buckles as he walks but that doens't slow him down in anyway. He's able to walk, run, and go up/down the stairs just fine! He walks well on leash. Loves to eat and he does well with other dogs and loves people. SF Bay Area adoption only.

Loves to eat, walks well on leash, and does fine with other dogs. He is a bit shy to start but warms up quickly and would love to follow wherever you are. SF Bay Area adoption only.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Female basset mix with Dachshunds and Friends Rescue Lola is not a GGBR dog. She is a courtesy listing for Dachshunds and Friends Rescue in Burbank, CA. Lola is currently fostering in Northern California. Sadly, despite being a lovable dog, Lola has been without a permanent home for over a year. She is up for adoption and looking for a family to call her own. With her sweet personality and playful nature, she's sure to be a wonderful addition to any household. She is around 4-5 years old. Fully vaccinated and spayed.  Potential adopters should know that Lola is a hound mix with a strong sense of curiosity and a mischievous streak. She's highly food motivated and will need some training and patience to help her overcome her impulsive behavior. However, with the right guidance and plenty of love, Lola has the potential to be an amazing companion. She really is a handful. Lola came from the streets of Mexico and had been exposed to distemper and although she is in great health, she only has 4 teeth left in her mouth. She has no problem eating dry food and is very food motivated.  In addition to being house-trained and crate-trained, Lola is also working on her leash training. She's a social dog who loves spending time with her people and cuddling up for affection. With her endless enthusiasm and heartwarming smile, Lola is a true gem that anyone would be lucky to have in their lives. Lola is very picky about her dog friends. She should be introduced extremely slowly or, ideally, she would do better as an only dog (she is fine with kitties). Lola absolutely loves kids, but because of her grabbiness with food, she would be best suited for a home with older children.  If you're interested in adopting Lola, please contact Dachshunds and Friends for more information. With your help, Lola can find the forever home she deserves and continue spreading joy and love to everyone around her. Adoption applications are available on the DAFR website, Dachshundsandfriends.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Female basset hound mixBella’s owner, who has provided good care for her, needs to surrender Bella because of her increasing work responsibilities. Bella is a 49-pound spayed female, approximately 6+ years old and is a basset mixed with some other breed. She is up to date on all her vetting, house trained, microchipped,  and is in good health. Bella is shy and fearful of strangers, at first, but after warming  up, she loves attention and affection. She is hesitant around other dogs, slowly becoming comfortable and might play a little, but otherwise keeps to herself. Bella pulls when on leash and barks and lunges at other dogs when on the leash with her owner. She is best with dogs of similar size or larger and has never had issues with other dogs when attending day care. She has no experience with cats nor much experience with children. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 23, 2024, 11:15 pm

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $400   Spring is an 8 year old Basset Hound mix who can’t wait to blossom with her forever family! Spring came to our rescue with her litter of 2 week old babies after she was abandoned at the shelter, which is no place for a sweet little family. Now that her babies are all grown up and she has had some Mama relaxation time, she is ready to find a home to live out her golden years in! Spring weighs 27 pounds and is a low-rider!    Below is a note from Spring’s foster.  “Spring is a fabulously cuddly and loving gal who can’t wait to meet her new BFF! When you first meet her, she can take a little bit to warm up but once she does, she is ready for non-stop snuggles. She would love to find a home where she can spend her days loving her people, being the best zoom companion ever! Spring is more of a couch potato kind of dog, but she does love her daily romps around the neighborhood. Spring is fully potty trained both with potty pads and outside. Spring adores the softer things in life, from blankets to toys and dotes on her Lamb Chop. Spring would be a perfect hike companion or a “snuggle and movie” friend.  Spring starts her morning with a potty break and breakfast at around 7 AM. During the day, she hangs out in a playpen with her bed and toys. She spends her time mostly snoozing and soaking up the sunshine. After I finish work for the day, we go on a walk to the park where she sniffs and gets her zoomies out. After her walk, she comes home for dinner and snuggles as I unwind from the day. She ends her day curled up on her soft dog bed as she dreams of adventures ahead!  Spring would do best in a home where she can be the only dog, or with a chill companion. She loves walks and trots alongside me as we wander the neighborhood. Spring gets along with all people, but prefers a slow introduction, so a home with loud kids might not be the best fit for her. Spring is such a lovely girl with beautiful, soulful eyes who deserves the absolute best forever home.”   Spring would be best suited for a home with prior dog experience, but she could be a first-time dog. Spring would do best as a solo dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.March 25, 2024, 11:42 pm
