Story
Indy is really the sweetest dog ever. She's so well behaved and cute. She came to me from a family of dogs where she was attacked and she attacked other dogs. She has been really good for the past year but she's been growling at my kids and she nipped at my 6 year old. She cannot handle any dogs or children. But she is so good for someone who does not have those things. She is trained in house and walks and has done good in apartment and house living. She will come with all of her supplies.

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Cookie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Cookie! Cookie is an adorable, 1-year-old, 35 lb Basset Hound / Blue Heeler mix with big floppy ears, short stubby legs, and the most beautiful markings you can imagine. This handsome lowrider turns heads everywhere he goes, and once you meet him, he’ll steal your heart too. Cookie was found as a stray in New Mexico, and nobody came to claim him. Cookie is an absolute sweetheart. He is very social, loves people, and happily soaks up affection, pets, and cuddles whenever they’re offered. He does wonderfully with other dogs and would love a canine buddy in his forever home, but he is happy with people attention as well so a buddy is not a necessity. He enjoys playtime but is equally content lounging around and enjoying good company. Cookie walks well on leash, has an easygoing and well-mannered personality, and carries a low to medium energy level — the perfect balance of playful and chill. He’s the kind of dog who fits seamlessly into daily life and makes everything a little sweeter just by being there. Since Cookie is so young, he is a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. With positive reinforcement training, he has all the potential in the world to be a loyal, well-mannered adult companion. He’ll thrive with virtual or in-person force-free training classes, which will help strengthen his bond with his humans and build him confidence. Cookie is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. When Cookie arrived to the New Mexico shelter, they noticed a slightly awkward limp. X-rays and a full veterinary evaluation revealed that this is simply an old injury or possible birth defect — his right hind femur is a bit shorter than the other. There are no fractures, no broken bones, and no signs of pain, and the veterinarian confirmed that no treatment of any kind is needed now or in the future. Cookie bears weight on the leg, gets around just fine, and his unique little “pirate walk” (affectionately known as his peg leg) only adds to his charm and character. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Gilbert is a 3MO, 10lb Long, scruffy pup.  We are guessing she will be about 20-25lbs when full grown.  Gilbert and her sibling have short little legs and long bodies, which makes us believe they have either Dachshund or Bassethound in them.  Honestly we have zero idea what their breeds are, but we know they are absolutely adorable, unique, and so, so sweet.   Gilbert and her siblings were found as strays in a rural part of Texas.  They were absolutely terrified at first.  A wonderful rescue lady in the area brought all the pups back to her house and kept them safe until we could get them into our rescue program.  They have really started to come out of their shells and learn all that life has to give - when you aren't busy fighting for your life in the middle of nowhere.   Gilbert and her siblings are typical puppies.  They love to play with each other, romp around with the fosters other dogs, and follow the foster around, cuirously watching them.  They love to snuggle and hang out.  Their forever families will need to be patient with them as they continue to learn all that life has to offer and that humans are kind and safe.  While they have little legs, they would still love to have a sibling to play with or someone who can take them on daily walks/adventures and get them continual mental stimulation and socialization. If you are interested in adopting Gilbert or one of her siblings, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2647798##

Story
Eugene is a sweet fellow who loves his people and enjoys being part of the action once he's had a minute to settle in. He's not the type to rush into introductions like a rom-com meet-cute - he prefers a brief "vibe check," and then he's all in with the love.He has enjoyed casual recreation with other dogs and has lived happily with cats. He appreciates a consistent routine and is learning that alone time isn't the end of the world (don't worry, he's working on it). With structure, enrichment, and a little patience, Eugene continues to show how great of a companion he can be. Eugene is seeking a home without children at this time.
