Story
Meet Snoopy Male DOB: March 1, 2026 Weight: 7 pounds (current) Estimated Adult Weight: 35–50 pounds Breed: Beagle Mix Neutered (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccinated Microchipped Blind, Healthy & Adoption-Ready Snoopy is a special little puppy with a huge heart and a spirit that shines far beyond his size. He may be blind, but he doesn’t let that slow him down. Snoopy explores the world with confidence, curiosity, and trust. He’s a happy, loving puppy who is learning, growing, and ready to form an incredible bond with the family lucky enough to call him theirs. Personality Snoopy is affectionate, playful, and full of life. He loves to explore using his other senses—sniffing, listening, and feeling his way through the world. He is incredibly loving and bonds deeply, often seeking comfort and connection with his people. He’s a brave little guy who approaches life with trust and joy. Ideal Home Snoopy would do best in a home that is patient, loving, and committed to helping him navigate the world safely. He will thrive in a stable environment where routines are consistent and he can build confidence. Owner Responsibilities Snoopy will need consistent guidance, structure, and a safe environment tailored to a visually impaired puppy. His adopter should be prepared to: Keep a consistent home layout so he can learn and navigate confidently Use verbal cues and gentle touch to guide and communicate with him Provide safe spaces and supervise during exploration Continue positive reinforcement training to build confidence and trust Offer daily exercise and enrichment adapted to his needs Like all puppies, he will also require: Frequent potty breaks and supervision Routine and structure Teething support and appropriate chew toys Blind dogs adapt incredibly well, but they rely on their humans for guidance, patience, and consistency. Things to Consider (Puppy Life + Special Needs) Adopting Snoopy means understanding both puppy life and his blindness, including: Potty training and accidents during learning Teething and chewing behaviors The need for a safe, predictable environment Extra patience as he learns to navigate new spaces Blind dogs live full, happy lives—but they do best with adopters who are committed, attentive, and willing to guide them with care. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With consistency and love, Snoopy will grow into an incredible companion. Veterinary Care Snoopy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and will need to complete his puppy vaccine series and be neutered when age-appropriate. Ongoing care should include: Regular veterinary check-ups Monitoring his overall development and safety Preventative care such as flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Your veterinarian can also help guide you in supporting a blind dog’s long-term health and well-being. Important Note Snoopy is an indoor family dog. He is not to be chained or left outside. Esther is a 25 lb, ~2-year-old independent, easygoing dog who keeps herself entertained and doesn’t need constant attention to thrive. Great with dogs of all sizes, has been around cats, and loves water. She’s a fun, low-maintenance companion for someone who appreciates a more self-sufficient dog. Esther is affectionate on her terms and happiest in a home that enjoys companionship without needing a constant shadow. Story
Patchy is the cutest little dude (26 pounds!) looking for his forever family. We assume he is a chihuahua mix and he is around 2-3 years old. Patchy came from a high-volume shelter as an unclaimed stray. He was completely shut down in the shelter. Since arriving in CO and joining a foster home, Patchy is showing us that he LOVES snuggles, attention, and high-pitched, happy, silly voices. He’s just a shy guy that needs some time to warm up. Once he trusts you his tail never stops wagging. His cute little wiggles and helicopter tail can make anyone smile! Patchy walks decently on a leash and is rocking crate training; he requests a crate as his safe space in an adoptive home as well. Patchy is a healthy boy who has pearly white teeth after his teeth cleaning. He is a little thin but eats wonderfully and is gaining weight. He has a low-grade heartworm infection that is being cleared. Patchy is going to bond hard with his forever human(s) and show them unwavering love, loyalty, and snuggles. We think he will do best in a mature, quiet-ish, patient home that can offer him predictability and consistency while he continues to learn to trust and continue to become his best, most confident, silly self! Patchy is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/patchy You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Bart is a sweet, soulful 9 year old, 59 lb Foxhound mix with the kindest eyes and the gentlest heart. Bart’s story is one that really sticks with you. He came into a very overcrowded, high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas after his owner passed away. Bart was found in the house, mourning the loss of his human mom. Bart was then dropped off at a high-kill shelter where he was pending euthanasia due to a lack of space. While we can’t know every detail, it’s clear that Bart was deeply loved in his previous home. He arrived at the shelter in great condition, which tells us he spent his life as someone’s cherished companion. Despite everything he’s been through, Bart has remained incredibly sweet and gentle. You can tell he’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near his people, quietly soaking up love and giving it right back. It’s impossible not to feel how much he misses having a home of his own. From Bart's foster: "Bart is a really good boy! He is great with our kids (9 & 13), he loves them, actually! He does great with both of our dogs also. He walks well on leash and enjoys walks. But he also loves just being lazy and snuggling. He sleeps in a dog bed next to our bed and sleeps through the night. He is potty trained! Bart is a very happy go lucky gentleman. He is so so so friendly and sweet. He does well in the car also!" Bart is ready for a fresh start...a soft place to land where he can feel safe, loved, and never alone again. He has so much love left to give, and we would truly love to see him spend his golden years exactly where he belongs: in a warm, caring home. Farfel's Rescue has made the decision that we'd like to see Bart in a home with loving and devoted retirees that spends lots of time at home, or enjoy taking their furry best friend along on their adventures. A younger family that works from a home-based office would also be a good choice for this people-loving guy. Bart is a perfect take-along guy. He enjoys the car and is very happy riding in the back seat so he can watch the activity going on outside the window.. Bart is at his absolute best with dog-crazy adults. He's much more comfortable with their quiet energy. A walk followed by time on the couch watching a favorite TV show would speak to this sweet dog. He would be overjoyed to be part of a loving and responsible family. Bart has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered to support Farfel's commitment to excellent health in our dogs and zero population growth in the canine community. Our wonderful Bart is looking for his forever home now. If interested in this beautiful and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Bart please be sure to submit the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Petfinder or Adoptapet don't provide enough information for us to determine a great match for this very deserving dog and therefore aren't useful. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue!
