Miss Mabel is a sweetheart who loves being around her people, playing with other dogs, spending time outside, and—most recently—discovering just how much fun toys can be. Mabel does great with other dogs and loves just about every person she meets. She shows some interest in the resident cat but does a nice job respecting his boundaries. She's kennel trained, although a little cheese sometimes helps convince her that going inside is a good idea, and she's making great progress with house training. She also does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks, especially when they come with opportunities to stop and say hello to new friends.
Mabel is generally a go-with-the-flow kind of girl, with one notable exception: storms are definitely not her thing. She would benefit from a thunder jacket and someone willing to offer a little reassurance until the storm passes. For Mabel, that mostly means giving her the freedom to pace when she needs to and providing plenty of pets when she comes over for comfort.
The more comfortable Mabel becomes, the more her goofy side comes out. She's the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart with her sweet face—and then make sure you haven't forgotten she's there with her wonderfully loud bay.
Mabel is a 2.5-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $600 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, dental, and spay. Mabel is also tested with other dogs, cats, children, and kennel trained. She is working on potty training in foster care. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home.
The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.
We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)
Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events.
Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
