I'm a 4 yr old beautiful Basset Hound boy, with a heart full of love and a nose that's always on the hunt for adventure. I'm good with dogs and cats and kids! I don't chase, growl or bully my kitty friends, you can see my pic of gentle hellos. With dogs closer to my size I have no hesitation for sniffs and tail wags! Big dogs like my 2 current foster brothers (elderly chocolate lab and juvenile malamute mix,) take me a little bit to warm up to... but after less than a week I am down for late night cuddles as I quietly sleep all night long sharing a dog bed, and boy do I sleep soundly and no one has to tippy toe or worry about making any noise to wake me, you could run a vacuum and I won't stir, lol. I will sleep in the kennel but prefer to hang out with the rest of the pack. I am not very food or treat motivated, but can sit and know boundaries, and love a good ear scratch (those floppy things are so soft, like velvet!) I originally came to the ranch with other bassets, but in the right forever home I feel like I could fit in with any mix. I hardly bark, even when others are noisy around me. If I don't get too distracted by new smells, I can walk well on a leash. I may not be a great guard dog, but I could be a wonderful addition for any family looking for a sweet loving affectionate new member! Currently fostering in NE Denver, close to I-25 & I-70 intersection, do travel to south Fort Collins occasionally, just reach out to set up a meet and greet!
