Story
Bring on the lively and fun spirit of all the best celebrations and you will get a glimpse at a life just waiting for you when you bring Jolly into your life. Jolly is basset hound mix just starting off learning about life at the tender age of 8 months. Not typical to the standard look of the basset hound, Jolly sports longer legs, a fluffy coat and stand-up ears. Jolly will be the hit of any social gathering and get ready for lots of sweet puppy antics that will be a wonderful attribute to watching her grow up. She can sprinkle on the sweetness and add the cherry on top. Jolly currently weighs around 40 pounds but will get bigger in coming weeks and months, and it is estimated that she will be a medium size dog of up to 60 pounds. Where she lands on the scale is a guess for anyone but there is no guesswork on how much love this girl has to give her forever family. With her friendly demeanor and acceptance of new friends, the door is opened pretty wide for a life with lots of friends. She enjoys the company of other dogs, children and adults. Come one, come all Jolly is ready to mingle. Contrary to the basset hound breed Jolly is not the nose to the ground kind of dog and she exudes a fairly energetic and rambunctious energy. She has not had the opportunity to meet cats so that remains an unknown at this time. She is a good mix of playtime and cozy time with her medium energy level. A popular gal like Jolly is sure to be a social media sensation. She is working hard towards her goals of leash training but has checked off house and crate training off her to do list. It is important to remember that although Jolly is housetrained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. With continued training and assistance from her family, Jolly will be a star pupil and learn her skill set in a minimum amount of time. She is determined to make her family proud. As with all puppies, Jolly is full of curiosity and wonderment and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. She will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize her so that she can become the perfect lifelong companion. Days turn into months and months turn into years. Each day will bring the love of Jolly straight from her heart to yours. Boundless love, affection and snuggles are what the future holds when you bring Jolly into your family. The adoption fee for Jolly is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.April 26, 2025, 6:37 am

Story
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose Nothin', don't mean nothin' hon' if it ain't free, no no And, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues You know, feelin' good was good enough for me Good enough for me and I'm Bobbi Lou. That's the jam folks except freedom in the streets means an empty tummy and that wasn't my jam. MMMM Jam. I like Jam or I bet I would. I like food and it sounds yummy in my tummy. Foster mom keeps the kibble bowl full so I never have hungry belly anymore. I am a Basset/Beagle mix and 7 years old. I'm 28 pounds and probably won't get bigger give or take a few pounds now that I get food everyday. I've been learning so much in my foster home. I do my potty business outside 99% of the time. I seem to like smaller dogs and am unsure about the bigger dogs that live here. Cats also live here and I'm a little growlie when they get in my space but if they leave me alone I'll do the same. They taught me how to go into my crate and that's where I sleep. I would much prefer to stay with my human and I don't take up a bunch of space. I stay in the lap area so you can get maximum pets. Come get me please so I can measure the lap space and make sure I fit. (don't worry I'll fit) Local adoption fee $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Meet Enchanted! &#226&#156&#168Enchanted is a 1-year-old, 53-pound Lab/Basset/Terrier mix with a long body, shorter stature, and a big personality! This sweet and playful girl is incredibly intelligent and always ready for fun. She adores playing with other dogs, going on walks, and getting all the belly rubs she can.Enchanted is highly treat-motivated—especially when it comes to getting goodies out of her red Kong! She’s house-trained, knows how to sit and shake, and even rings a bell when she needs to go outside. She has a hilarious streak, often stealing something important (like your shoe!) just to get you to play a game of “Tag! You’re it!”She’s wonderful with kids, friendly with strangers, and absolutely loves car rides—especially if they end with a pup cup from the drive-thru! She’ll go in her crate when needed (though a treat helps!), and while she’ll settle in for the night, she’d much rather sleep on the couch or snuggled up in bed with you. Around 9:30 pm, she’ll let you know it’s time for “night night.”Enchanted is still perfecting her leash skills, but she’s making great progress. Now, all she needs is a loving family to open their hearts and give her the forever home she deserves!Could Enchanted be your perfect match?IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 28, 2025, 6:17 am
