Story
After very much thought and consideration, Gladys (Gladdy) foster family has decided instead of keeping her it would be best for her to find a family of her own. One of the resident dogs in her current foster home has decided even though she loves Gladdy most of the time, there are certain situations that upset her which causes her to go after Gladdy and it's just not fair to her. Although her foster family's hearts are broken, they want to do what's best for her. Gladdy was found laying on the side of the road. She was scooped up by her rescuer after no one in the neighborhood recognized her. We are guessing Gladdy is American Pit Bull Terrier mixed with Basset Hound or possibly Corgi since she has such short stubby legs. She would likely be good with dog savvy cats. She is a total love bug and loves attention. She is still young and learning her manners, so kids over 5 would be best for her as she is still a little jumpy. She is also working on potty training. She loves to go for walks and human interaction. Another younger playful dog would be best for her. She is pretty athletic as well. She is very treat motivated so that makes training her that much easier. She will need heavy duty chew toys as she is still in the "puppy" stage. She has a silly goofy personality that makes her foster family laugh. Her foster family will be looking for the perfect home for her that will love her just as much as they do. Email cron_19@yahoo.com if you would like to meet Gladdy...

Story
Copenhagen loves his humans and likes to sleep next to them. Good on leash. Generally laid back. Loves belly rubs. Likes to play ball but never brings it back to you. Wants you to chase him. Lived with 2 previous Great Danes without issue. After the loss of our previous Danes another was brought into the home and the battle for pack leader ensued. Food aggressive with this one but not with previous Danes. As previously stated did well with our late Danes but never got along with this one. He has not been aggressive to other dogs in neighborhood or walking on leash. Have not tried to feed him with other dogs. Fenced yard would be best as he likes to follow his nose. Terrified of gunfire, fireworks & severe thunderstorms. Doesn't mind going out in the rain.

Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Irving, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea, Mi for Happy Days Rescue. Irving is a very handsome boy, likely a Hound/Beagle mix (?), he’s approx. 2 years old, he weighs about 45 pounds, and he’s a happy and wonderful dog. Irving enjoys meeting new people, taking walks (he walks well on a leash), chasing a ball, and hanging out with his gal pal, Ingrid. Irving came to us (along with Ingrid) when their family said they weren’t able to provide for their safety while living in a busy area. They are both well mannered and seem to enjoy meeting other nice dogs. Irving was given his essential vaccines on 12/27 and he is scheduled for his first Vet appt. in Dexter where he will be tested for Heart Worm disease and implanted with a Microchip for his safety. If you would like to meet Irving, please submit an adoption application at  happydaysdogandcatrescue.org . More photos of Irving will be forthcoming as they become available. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
