Foster mom here, and I’m excited to have the chance to brag about my 4 beagle mix boys Pepper, Basil, Dill, and Paprika!!
They are Beagle on their mom’s side, but even if I wanted to lie, the camera doesn’t and they do not look like Beagles.
That is not such bad news for you puppy people though. I will tell you they are the best of both worlds. Their DNA on the dad’s side says that they are 30% Shiba Inu, 16% Australian Cattle Dog, and then bringing up the rear small amounts of Border Collie and German Shepherd.
What this means is: they have the bright and spunky personality of a beagle puppy, but they are very smart and trainable. At only seven weeks of age, they learned boundaries almost immediately and they all respond to tone and voice and modify their behavior immediately. This is unusual for such young puppies. They are also taking small steps to housetrain themselves
Looks-wise, you have to see the photos and decide what works for you. They have some floppy beagle ears and some Shiba Inu curly tails (some are white tipped like mom’s) but they are so wonderfully unique we are in love here at home. DNA confirms: 52% beagle and 30% Shibu Inu.
They will be completely vetted and ready to go the weekend of April 20. At that time, they will be 9 weeks old. Experience and research indicate that they should be medium sized dogs, give or take 40lbs when fully grown.
Fill out our application and once we make sure you are a good home for one of these princes, I’ll be happy to answer any and all questions and send videos. I’ll tell you which one is a talker, which one likes to watch TV, and which one is a pain in the butt yet so worth it!

Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
