Story
Meet Chorizo! Chorizo is a three-year-old Basset Hound mix with a big head, a long body, and a personality that makes him impossible to miss. His unique looks turn heads wherever he goes, and he’s always happy to make a new friend!
Chorizo is a social butterfly who wants to meet every person and dog he passes. He absolutely LOVES playing with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion who enjoys an energetic playmate. He’s also extremely food-motivated, enjoys long walks, and loves chewing on his toys. This playful, high-energy boy will do best with an adopter who can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment toys, and mental stimulation to keep his busy mind engaged. A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus!
Chorizo is still learning his basic commands and how to settle into a routine at home, so he’ll benefit from a patient, understanding adopter who can help him build these skills with consistency and positive reinforcement. He’s crate-trained and comfortable sleeping in his crate or staying there while his person is away during the day. For someone who works outside the home, doggy daycare could also be a great outlet for his social and playful nature.
Above all, Chorizo is an incredibly friendly, affectionate, and enthusiastic pup who loves being around people and other dogs. With the right home, continued guidance, and plenty of opportunities to play, he has so much love to give. He’s ready to find his forever family and start his next chapter!
Chorizo is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY. His adoption fee is $500.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
