Story
Tina is a 42 pound, 9 year old basset-hound mix. She is an independent lady. She loves sunbathing, walks, and napping on the couch. If she’s in the mood, she’s down to cuddle up with you. She also makes an excellent doorbell. She loves to play with other pups. But she needs her space and downtime. So it is preferred that she be the only dog in the house. Or that her roommate be as chill as she is. She loves to meet new people, especially to lick them. But after an hour or so, she likes to chill on her own. Apart from occasional barking at squirrels, you can find her alternating between napping on the couch and going outside to sunbathe for most of the day. She does love her daily walks. She doesn't pull much. Tina does not do well in a high energy environment (aka young children or animals). Tina is looking for a quiet home where she can get lots of sunbathing in, and couch time to live out her golden years. We are located in Austin TX and can deliver her in the Central Texas area.

Story
Meet Avila! Meet Aviva 💝👑 Aviva is a sweet, playful 1 year old basset mix with a heart as big as her personality. She came to us after being found as a stray on a Texas highway. When she arrived, she had severe skin injuries and was underweight. Thanks to lots of care, Aviva has gained 8 pounds, her skin has healed, and her soft fur is growing back beautifully. Now that she’s feeling better, her true self is shining. She loves playing with other dogs, digging through the toy box, curling up on a faux fur blanket, and falling asleep to ocean sounds. She’s doing good with potty training, thrives on routine, and settles nicely into her crate at night after a short protest. Aviva is also a bit of a princess. She avoids wet grass whenever possible, loves hanging out near the pantry, and sometimes misses the couch with her back end when jumping because she doesn’t realize how long she is. Like many rescue dogs who have experienced food insecurity, Aviva can be protective of high-value treats, chews, and food. She does well when fed and given treats inside her crate. Heartworm negative, dog friendly, and impossible not to adore, Aviva is ready to find the family she’s been waiting for. Could that family be yours? Please stay tuned as we learn more about her.

Story
Penny is a wonderful Basset. She is loving and sweet. I took her in temporarily for a friend and his family who were unable to care for her. I informed them I would ensure she found a good forever home. I am unable to care for her long term as I am frequently away from home. She would do very well in a loving home. I want to ensure she finds that loving forever home. She loves to snuggle and of course sniff. She is great with people and other pets.

Story
Delta, Looking at her pictures, you'd never know she came in looking like a train wreck. This poor dog lived on the streets for years and she sure looked it when she came in. Those days are behind her now and she is ready to roll on to the next chapter. Delta is a around 6 yrs old and weighs close to 50 lbs and she is very true to her breed. She is a stubborn Basset Hound who will keep you laughing every day. We enjoy her antics around here and love watching her and her boyfriend Mack play. Delta was treated for heartworms and is currently being treated for Chagas disease. Don't let that worry you.... she is doing great and strong as a bull. She is doing great on treatment! She gets along best with male dogs but can coexisit with male or female if its the right dog.
Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip

Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.

Story
In a world where everyone is always in such a rush, I prefer to take my time and savor every moment. I believe slow and steady wins the race, and that`s why I`m not one to rush into anything. But don`t let my laid-back attitude fool you - once I get to know you, I can be the most loving and loyal companion you`ve ever met.One of my favorite things to do is go for walks that lead to new smells and adventures. It`s like every step is a new opportunity to explore the world and discover something new. And if you really want to get my attention, just bring along some tasty treats. I can`t resist a good snack!Believe it or not, I`m a lot smaller than you might think. But what I lack in size, I make up for in heart. And when it comes to riding in a car, I`m an absolute pro. I love feeling the wind in my fur and watching the world go by outside.Ask anyone who knows me and they`ll tell you what a good boy I am. I walk beautifully on a leash and always listen to the humans that I know and trust. I may be slow and steady, but I`m also reliable and trustworthy - a true friend for life. So why not take a chance on me and let me show you what a wonderful companion I can be?

Story
Available in TX only! King is a one year old Basset Hound/Lab mix with a gentle soul and a laid back nature. He is still gaining confidence and can be scared of new things, especially loud noises, but once he feels safe he settles in nicely. When he gets excited he can be a little jumpy, though most of the time he is calm and easygoing. King truly enjoys running around the yard, going on walks, and soaking up outdoor time. He has a playful side and loves playing fetch with frisbees and balls. Tug of war is another favorite game, and he is a big fan of chew time. Knuckle bones, hard chew toys for power chewers, and anything he can safely gnaw on make him very happy. King is crate trained and house trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. King does have a prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels and frogs, and he will chase cats, so a cat free home is recommended. He also has a sensitive stomach and does best on sensitive stomach dog food, as treats like milk bones do not agree with him. King would thrive in a patient, understanding home that will give him time to build confidence and continue showing him the world is a safe place. With love and consistency, he will be a loyal and loving companion To apply directly for King, push the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-751 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).
