Meet Oliver 🐾 Oliver is an almost 7 y’o Basset Hound/Mini Australian Shepherd mix who is incredibly loyal and loving with his people. He’s a gentle, affectionate companion and has been amazing with our three young children—patient, calm, and sweet. He thrives when someone is home often, as he can have separation anxiety and may bark or get into things if left alone too long. Oliver is also very protective of his home and family. He can be wary of strangers and needs slow, careful introductions and clear boundaries (he has bit people who put their hands too close upon introduction) but once he feels safe, he becomes a big, loving teddy bear. Oliver would do best in a home with minimal visitors, someone home most of the day, and an owner willing to work with him or experienced with protective dogs. This is a hard decision, and we’re hoping to find him a home where he can truly thrive.
