Story
We adopted Penny in September from the peninsula regional shelter, she’s about 5 months old I believe. She is the sweetest, playful, lovey girl. Unfortunately, our two adult dogs have shown a lot of aggression towards her despite time and training. We feel Penny’s happiness and safety needs to come first by having a new family. We have a 3 and 4 year old who she gets alone well with

Story
DUDE IS IN FOSTER.PLEASE EMAIL contact@animalaidsociety.org TO SCHEDULE A MEETING!Every once in awhile, a dog comes to us and they tug at our heartstrings more than usual. Whether it's their background, their condition or their fortitude. Such is the case with Dude - it's his fortitude that we all admire.Dude does not have normal front feet, which also makes his front legs a bit distorted and shorter than his back legs. Likely having this since birth, he has had to adjust his gait and movement. He will have xrays to see if they can make sense of what is going on.He is now on pain meds and joint supplements and we already see him feeling more relaxed. He also now has rugs in his run so that it's easier for him to walk around. When he sees you coming to sit next to him, he rolls on his back and puts his legs in the air! What appears awkward and perhaps painful to us, is just normal for Dude! He gets what he needs and seems to take pleasure in the small things. He adores when people take an extra minute to hang out with him. Dude loves belly rubs and sitting in the sun.Dude is just three-years-old and otherwise very healthy! He will never be one for long walks but he will always be one for snuggles and love!Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Maggie Moo: Small Body, Big Personality, Endless Wiggles Looking for a low-to-the-ground, high-on-love kind of gal? Meet Maggie, also known as Mags, Maggie Moo, or Wiggles—because that tail never stops! She’s a 10-year-old Basset Hound/Jack Russell mix with short legs, a big heart, and an Olympic-level snuggle game. Don’t let her age fool you—this 30-pound sweetheart still zips around the yard like she’s part greyhound. She’s spunky, silly, and full of surprises, especially when she catches a case of the zoomies. Maggie’s specialty? Being extremely attached to her person. If you’ve got a lap (or even just a couch), she’s got a spot picked out. She’s a champion cuddler, a loyal sidekick, and basically your new little shadow. Once she bonds with you, you’re her person for life. She needs a child-free home where she can feel safe, secure, and doted on like the queen she is. But don’t worry—when Maggie loves you, she LOVES you. Expect heart-melting looks, constant companionship, and lots of wiggly affection.  As a bonus: she gets along great with other dogs and even cats. So if you’ve already got a fur family, Maggie just might fit right in. Maggie is the perfect blend of sassy and sweet, loyal and hilarious. If you’re ready for a lovable, nap-loving, people-adoring pup to share your days (and your furniture), Maggie’s ready to meet you. Interested? Let’s set up a meet-and-snuggle. Maggie’s waiting!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 18, 2025, 10:48 am

Story
Friendly  Meet Cool Snoop Dogg, the most easygoing one-year-old Bassett/Beagle mix you could ever hope to meet. He’s currently around 30 pounds and will likely fill out in the 35–38 pound range once he reaches a healthy weight. One glance at his soft, soulful eyes is enough to understand just how deeply this sweet boy connects with his people. Everything about him—from his long Bassett body to his gorgeous droopy ears to that one charming knobby knee—makes him an irresistibly endearing companion. Snoop Dogg has the temperament of a dog twice his age. Instead of the constant curiosity you might expect from a Beagle, he carries himself with a calm, unhurried Bassett spirit. He enjoys exploring a little, but he’s not the type to keep his nose to the ground nonstop. He’s also not a big barker, only joining in when the other dogs decide there’s something worth discussing. On a leash he already does very well, and with just a little practice he’ll be close to perfect. What makes him truly special is his gentle, affectionate nature. If you sit on the ground, he immediately settles in close, wrapping you in a soft, sweet hug and offering the most tender kisses. For such a young dog, his kindness is remarkable. His foster family says he radiates peace, love, and pure goodness in everything he does. Snoop Dogg is wonderfully well-mannered, housebroken, and crate trained. He learned the doggy door in a single day and rides calmly in the car without stress or hesitation. Whether he’s with children, other dogs, cats, a busy family, an empty nest couple, or a single person, he adapts seamlessly. This boy truly fits anywhere, bringing joy, simplicity, and easy companionship into every space he enters. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved, Cool Snoop Dogg might be your perfect match. Story
They are so tiny we had to split “itty-bitty” into two names.Meet Itty and Bitty - two-year-old pocket-sized Beagles ready to fill your heart to bursting.Itty (male) and Bitty (female) came from an overcrowded rural shelter. Their past isn’t known, but its shadow is dark. They shy away from people, and when cornered, they crouch low as if expecting the worst. But as our Beagle fans know - NOTHING can keep a Beagle down! Beagles are joy, curiosity, comic timing, love and loyalty, topped off with floppy ears. With patience and safety, Itty and Bitty's sparks will catch.Itty and Bitty are NOT BONDED and can be adopted separately. Each feels most at ease with other dogs, so a steady “helper pup” could make their transition easier. Itty is heartworm-positive, but Animal Aid covers all treatment costs, even after adoption.Come meet them and see what we see: two tiny souls ready to learn that life can be safe, people can be kind, and home can be forever.Animal Aid Society is located at 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton. Visiting hours are 9am to noon daily, including weekends and holidays.*Needs a home with a securely fenced yard.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Story
This very handsome couch potato is Chauncey. He`s a 5-yr-old Beagle who loves his stuffed animals and cuddles. He has been gentle with the children and cats and likes a good tug of war with the large dogs. This man seems to like his quiet and will leave a very active space to go find his peace. So while I think he would do great in any home. He would thrive in a more slow pace household.
